Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 24, 2024
This Privacy Policy explains how Twitter X, Facebook & WhatsApp Voice Transcriber handles user data. Our extension is designed with a "Privacy-First" approach.
1. Data Collection & Usage
The Extension handles the following types of data to provide its core service:
- Audio Data: When you click the "Transcribe" button, the extension intercepts the audio stream of that specific voice message. This data is processed in real-time and is never stored or archived by the developer.
- Personal Communications: The extension accesses the text of the voice message (via AI transcription) to display it to you. This content stays within your browser and is not collected by us.
- Authentication Information: Your API keys (AssemblyAI, OpenAI, or Deepgram) are stored locally on your device using
chrome.storage.sync and are only used to authenticate requests to the AI providers.
2. Third-Party Data Sharing
To provide transcription and translation, data is securely transmitted to the following providers based on your settings:
- AssemblyAI, OpenAI, or Deepgram: Audio data is sent for transcription.
- Google Translate API: Transcribed text is sent for translation if the feature is enabled.
We do not sell, trade, or rent user data to any other third parties.
3. Permissions Justification
- Storage: Used to save your API keys and language preferences locally.
- Host Permissions (WhatsApp, Facebook, X): Necessary to detect voice messages and inject the "Transcribe" button into the chat interface.
4. User Rights
You can delete all data stored by the extension at any time by clearing the extension settings or uninstalling the extension.
